Ouch that hurt! An 8-0 loss against high flying, top of the league Bromsgrove. I have spoken about our progression and that was there to see yesterday but they are a team transformed. When we played them at our place they beat us 3-0, but on break aways and I recorded that we were always in the game. Yesterday they were the dominant team and played super hockey, hats off they were in a different league, or at least they will be next season. So what can we take from the game? Firstly the comments of their umpires who complemented us on our attitude and work rate, they said the score did not reflect the true nature of the game and I agree. Second the adult debut of Will Bamford who was totally assured partnering Nigel in a centre back pairing. Third the stunning form of Paul Dunne in goal, he stopped numerous other efforts including 2 smashing flying saves. Lastly the geat behaviours of our team, we kept our heads up and going till the end, witness that we won our first short corner in the last 2 minutes of the game. So we put this one down to experience (they just had more across the park) and look forward to the opportunities to carry on improving after the half term break.
