England call again for Chris

Men’s 1st team player Chris Duerden has been called up for England Masters duty yet again. Chris will play in the over 45s team when they compete in the World Cup in the summer. He has already won masters world cups with England in 2011 and 2012, and last year captained the England side to Home Nations championship victory. Congratulations Chris, and best of luck for more England glory!

Birthday celebrations

Many of the ladies section got together to celebrate the end of season and our 2nd team captain, Jean Scott-Miller’s 60th birthday. 5th are on the up!

Well done to our men’s 5th team who secured promotion today with a 7-2 victory over Sutton Coldfield. Captain Bob Court and his team enjoyed a few well-deserved celebrations back at the club after their win. Congratulations!  

League Champions!

Congratulations to our men’s 1st team who have won Midlands Division One this season. The men have clinched their league victory with a game still to go, and thanks to other results in the league, are in fact now eight points clear. Hampton juniors march on to regional tournament

Well done to our U10 girls who were runners up in the England Hockey In2Hockey county championships this weekend. The U10 girls’ tournament was hosted at Hampton and saw 8 teams entering from around the county. Hampton met Edgbaston in the final, with Hampton having beaten Stratford, Old Sils & Rugby and overcoming Leamington in the semis. Congratulations to our men’s 1s!

Congratulation to our men’s 1s who today secured promotion from Midlands Division 1, their second promotion in two years! The men, under the leadership of coach Jon Doherty and captain Jas Ghata Aura, are pushing now to win the league and have three games left to play. Their final home game is 22nd March at 1.30pm against South Notts. Why not head down to cheer them on?

Hampton in Arden Sports Club AGM

The AGM for the whole sports club (of which hockey is just one part) is being held on Wednesday 29 January 2014 at the club, starting at 7:30pm. Hockey club members are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to attend. Our chairman Lloyd has submitted a report, detailing what’s been going on at the club, and hockey club members can read this on the Bulletin Board in the members area on this site.
