After a brilliant pre-season and a new plan implemented, the Men’s 1st XI faced two of the league favourites straight away in Notts Trent and Loughborough Uni and performed brilliantly, picking up a point against the latter! However, performance dropped against some banana skin local rivals in Boots, Burton and Stratford…and some last minute goals cost the green army vital points leaving them second bottom of the league….
After squad feedback and a tough training session to hit the reset button, the lads rallied around each other and in emphatic style beat North Staffs 6-1 to finally get the league campaign out of the blocks.
With 3x weeks until the next league game, we continue to train hard on and off the pitch, and look forward to the exciting Cup match just off the mainland as we face Guernsey in the EH Tier 2 Championship on Sunday 5th November.
