For those new to the club, this is typically the day when we dust off our sticks and kit and find out how unfit we became over the summer! This year, however, with so many of us partaking in the large range of summer hockey options on offer I am expecting many of you are almost peaking.

The order of events is as follows:

12:00 – 13:30 Ladies 1s vs. Stratford
13:30 – 15:00 Mens 1s vs. Gloucester City
15:00 – 17:00 Half-pitch games with (probably) 6 teams in a round robin tournament

The half-pitch games are aimed at those playing senior hockey, 13 and above. (Junior hockey starts again on Sunday with their first session of the season.) Please arrive early, so we can get a full set of games in and do come and support the Ladies and Mens 1st teams.

Barbecue and “bar games” will ensue from later on in the afternoon and, of course, the bar will be open.

It’s also a great opportunity to come and get your questions answered and suggestions heard regarding the upcoming season including membership, kit, new rules and any special circumstances you want to discuss.

It’s also the 50th Anniversary of the Hampton Sports Club and you’ll notice a large marquee for the ball in the evening. There are still a few tickets remaining for the ball and if anyone is interested in coming please email [email protected]. Please ensure you are showered and into your regular clothes if you want to be in the bar after 6pm.
