For those at the club for first Tuesday training yesterday, the
rain was definitely a reminder that the winter is coming and the
hockey season is officially starting. I am expecting everyone was
inspired by the England Ladies Euro win at the weekend and
successful performance by the England men, so welcome to the
2015/16 season!

We are looking forward to another great season with our growing
Ladies, Mens and Junior sections. We have enrolled in some
England Hockey competitions for juniors, we have an additional
Ladies team and three of our five Men’s teams are playing in
higher leagues.

More detailed information about contacts, captains, fees and
training can be found here Key Information 2015. In the meantime, here are a
few highlights:

* Club Day for senior teams is on September 12th from Noon – 5pm.
It’s the 50th anniversary of Hampton Sports Club so we have
arranged two games for the Mens and Ladies 1st teams from Noon
for which support is encouraged.. All club participation in the
usual mixed games begins 3pm. Committee members will be around
all afternoon if you want to discuss anything. More details to
follow.

* Junior training begins on Sunday, September 13

* All fixtures have been uploaded to the club calendar which can
be found in the Members area of the website
https://hamptonhockey.clubbuzz.co.uk/members (Note, you’ll need
to login to access this area – if you don’t know your ID or
password, please reply to this email and we’ll help you with
access)

* There are some new rules this season so if you are not aware
take a look on the England Hockey website here
http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/news.asp?itemid=32680&section=22

* Match fees at Hampton haven’t change for the past 18 years and
this season we have finally decided to do so to continue to
provide the best coaching and facilities for members. Annual
membership subscriptions will remain unchanged. An additional
communication regarding payment methods and timing will be sent
by the Treasurer shortly.

* I have been asked by captains and managers to remind everyone
to respond promptly to selection emails, and definitely no later
than Tuesday 8pm each week. Also please enter any known
unavailability into the ClubBuzz system in advance

* We have documented our club code of conduct, also available for
download in the news section of the website. Please everyone read
this and be aware of the expectations and high standards we
should demand from each other

* A number of committee members are looking to “retire” after
this season so there will be a number of roles opening up. I’ll
be looking for people to take on Umpire Co-Ordinator, Fixtures
Secretary and several other roles in readiness for the start of
the season, so if anyone is interested in volunteering please
speak with a committee member.

* In the meantime, get ready to play and enjoy another great season
for Hampton and if you have any questions, please contact a committee member or email [email protected]
