Mens 1’s Update

After a brilliant pre-season and a new plan implemented, the Men’s 1st XI faced two of the league favourites straight away in Notts Trent and Loughborough Uni and performed brilliantly, picking up a point against the latter! However, performance dropped against some banana skin local rivals in Boots, Burton and Stratford…and some last minute goals cost the green army vital points leaving them second bottom of the league….After squad feedback and a tough training session to Read more…

Goal Keepers Assemble!!

A very wet Wednesday played host to our first goal keeper specific training session led by club coach Greg Wade. It was a great opportunity for our keepers to focus on specific skills and fitness which is sometimes missing in club training sessions. We hope to continue these sessions in the future to help encourage more players to suit up in goal for Hampton.

Report: Men’s 4th XI vs Market Harborough – November 04, 2023

Playing with 10 men, actually three adults and 7 under 16s the 4s pulled off a great draw. We absolutely were the better side, watching from the goal the writer observed us survive a difficult opening 10 minutes and then go on to dominate. Most of the time it looked like we were the team with 11. Some cracking passing hockey and great movement into space saw us create chances and win shorts. One of Read more…

Report: Men’s 5th XI vs City Of Birmingham – October 14, 2023

A much harder game this week and one where we were not able to dominate. Man of the Match went to our Keeper Paul Dunne who was in splendid form saving many shots. Two new players got shout outs for their first game in the 5s, Jacob Hodgkins and Simon Albrighton fitted in well.  We are managing to asimilate new players into our structure well and I am pleased with the hockey we are playing. Report: Men’s 4th XI vs Charnwood Forest 4 – October 14, 2023

We started very brightly and were rewarded with a goal by Alex Luckett within the first 10 minutes, following good work in the D by Kaiser Wong. Unfortunately, we were unable to hold onto our lead and went into the break at 1-1.  We dominated the second half but couldn’t capitalise on our possession. Charnwood snekad a win with breakaway goal midway through the half.  Good performances all round – just need to found a Read more…

Report: Men’s 5th XI vs Stourport 6 – October 07, 2023

Another case of being the better team, if only just this week. Stourport sit second in the league and we were at them for the whole game. Unfortunatly their keeper played a blinder! One of their players said but for him we could have been 4-0 up by half time. They are an experienced team but our youth (including Tom and Craig) served us well snapping in for tackles and not giving them time to Read more…

Report: Men’s 5th XI vs Worcester 7 – September 30, 2023

Ouch – We demonstrated the art of domination, overwhelming Worcester from the push back to ourattack in the final seconds of the game, but at the moment we cannot buy a goal! A reworked side saw us play Mark, Peter and Nigel in a three across the back and with Paul in goal, they dealt with what Worcester were able create, well almost, their goal was well taken. Nigel in his typically long legged, tricksy Read more…
