It was good to get the game on against a very young Saints 7s one of our league’s development teams. With new players Nin Sander, first game and kit Lightfoot second game, although we were older I think we might actually have been less experienced. They were quick and well drilled. They took their first goal well and looked across us in the first half, but we were also quick on the break and equalised from a Sahil Ahmed goal late in the half. He had a secod cracking shot saved by the Saints stand in keeper (me). JD sorted things out at half time and we were stronger and used the width to better effect. Although they scored first in the second half, Mahul Goercha stole into the back post for his first Hampton goal with Jack Rochford repeating the trick late in the game for a 3-2 win.
