A winning start to the season for the Mightly 5s a feat last acthieved in the 18/19 season. It did not look like that would be the case. Both sides created chances in the first half with a good young Khalsa Leamington side scoring first. 0-1 at half time and they scored again shortly after our push backl. We were playing well enough but knew we needed a change. We reset the formation and sent Indy Singh up front to give us an adult presence. That soon payed dividends as Indy scored shortly afterwards with a difficult reverse stick tap in. With a Hampton crowd behind us we continued to create chances with Rory Danylko converting from close range. Tempted to sit? Not with Nigel Pond driving us forward and in the 69th minute a long ball saw Rory free and one on one with the keeper. Rory calmly chipped the keeper as he came off his line, a super goal to win the game. A draw would have been fair for a game played in great spirit by both sides. But it’s great to report a win.
