On the day the goalposts were moved – Strange day with storm Darragh causing a bit of chaos, it was game on as far as Harborne and the M5 were concerned. In the warm up a gust blew the goalposts back about 3ft behind the line, luckily the weather calmed as the game started. As with our last few weeks Hampton started well and were soon creating chances and restricting Harborne to break aways. As with previous weeks they scored from one of those breaks. But we know how to react and just pressurred them until our goal, courtesy of Tom Norrington, came before haft time. With the rain it was a case of rinse – repeat for the second half but with a glaring keeper error by the writer letting them in for the first goal of the half. A long ball through, Seeley covered the ball running infront of the striker, then relaxed only to miss the winger coming in to collect the ball on the line and from an acute angle score. But we know what to do and that man Norrington scored again to make honours even. Credit must go to our very young team for sticking with it. The weather was wet and with the wind felt sub zero theyv looked like drowned rats but they all stuck with the task and should be proud that we got a well deserved result. Well done!
