A tale of 2 weekends, last Saturday we ran the right process but could not buy a goal, this week, same process, different outcome, and a 3-1 win. Credit all over the pitch, the team were excellent, there is room to improve but our progression is clear. Stand outs were Joe Dunne who stepped in to keep for us with only a couple of hours notice (the writer having stuffed his back earlier that day). Joe made a couple of great saves to keep us in the game , a reflex right arm save being the pick of the bunch. Jack Pond scared them witless with his pace on the left, he made a number of super interceptions and breaks. Tom Norrington was a dynamo (he always is) but his growing prowess infront of goal led to our 2-0 half time lead. They came back strongly after the break to make it 2-1. We kept going but our 3rd goal was a cracker, Ollie Norrington has found a way of hitting the ball hard attacking from the right, but on the occasion he appreared at the head of the D and let fly, straight in and 3-1 up. We had a few scares seeing out the game but as Hair Bear always says “we want to see progress” and we are.
