Hampton-in-Arden hockey club umpire Lis Hedley showed tremendous pedal power last month when she pedalled her way to Paris from Solihull.

Lis rode over 330 miles in 4 days as part of a group of riders raising money to help build a new Marie Curie hospice for the West Midlands. The group has already raised tens of thousands of pounds with its cycling challenge. This will go towards the Big Build Appeal, which is aiming to raise £7million in total.

Lis (pictured at the end of her ride by the Eiffel Tower) said: “Arriving in Paris was fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant and we all had a tremendous feeling of achievement. The ride itself was very hard work but very worthwhile.”

Fundraising for the hospice appeal continues, and Lis herself has already raised nearly £2000. If you would like to donate please visit http://original.justgiving.com/elisabethhedley.Lis Hedley charity bike ride
