We are running two more ‘Back to Hockey’ sessions for ladies, this Sunday 5th May and the Sunday after, 12th May. The sessions are aimed at new female players; both those who used to play and those who have never played before, and are funded by England Hockey. The ladies section of the club is starting a recruitment drive to get more players for next season. So another season is over. There have been ups and downs for the club, but what is always sure (as it always is at Hampton), is that many friendships have been forged and enhanced over the past seven or eight months. Junior Hockey Training on Sunday March 24th is cancelled due to the snow
Congratulations to our men’s 1st team, coached by Jon Doherty and captained by Scott Powell, who have finished top of the West Midlands Premier League this season. The team remained unbeaten all season, with 1 draw and 19 wins and scored 101 goals. We’re very proud of the team which has worked so hard all season, and look forward to celebrating with them at the end of season dinner on 13th April.
Our very own Jean Scott Miller has been selected for the England Masters hockey squad that will compete in an international tournament in France in March. Jean is currently captain of Hampton’s 2nd team and her knowledge and experience will also come in handy for England, as she has been chosen to captain the Over 55s team, which will also compete in the European masters championships in Ireland later this year. All Hockey training has been cancelled tonight 12th February as the pitch is still covered with about 10mm of snow
Today game against Cov & NW has been cancelled by the University of Coventry claiming the pitches have ice on them
Unfortunately we still can’t host hockey at Hampton because of the effects of the recent weather. All home games are cancelled Saturday 26th January and junior training on Sunday 27th is also cancelled.
